While it's likely to be 2021 before the Rose re-opens, two special events previously scheduled for this year will eventually reach the Rose and Starlight screens. Our third Dance Film Festival was to have taken place in April, but was cancelled before our mid-March closure. The festival will indeed return next year. And film scholar Ted Walch was scheduled to return to the Starlight Room this past June for a weekend presentation called The Women of Wyler; a look at three films directed by William Wyler: THE LITTLE FOXES (Bette Davis), MRS. MINNIVER(Greer Garson), and THE HEIRESS (Olivia de Havilland). Hopefully this program will take place at a later date.
But in support of the Rose's new streaming platform - debuting soon - Ted Walch will join us live from Los Angeles for commentary and audience Q&A with an award-winning film.
