THE LITTLE MERMAID is the beloved story of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. The youngest of King Triton's daughters and the most defiant, Ariel longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea and, while visiting the surface, falls for the dashing Prince Eric. While mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. She makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, which gives her a chance to experience life on land but ultimately places her life – and her father's crown – in jeopardy.
THE LITTLE MERMAID, visionary filmmaker Rob Marshall's live-action reimagining of the studio's Oscar-winning animated musical classic, stars singer and actress Halle Bailey (GROWN-ISH) as Ariel, Tony Award winner Daveed Diggs (HAMILTON) as the voice of Sebastian, Awkwafina (THE FAREWELL) as the voice of Scuttle, Oscar winner Javier Bardem (NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN) as King Triton, and two-time Academy Award nominee Melissa McCarthy (BRIDESMAIDS) as Ursula. THE LITTLE MERMAID is directed by Oscar nominee Rob Marshall (CHICAGO). The score is by Alan Menken (BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, ALADDIN), who won two Oscars for the music in the animated version of THE LITTLE MERMAID, and new lyrics are by three-time Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda (HAMILTON).

"What is marvelous is this more diverse world of characters and a new Disney princess in Bailey. Her Ariel is so radiant that she seems to possess the properties of bioluminescence, absolutely glowing in every scene. The human world, it's a mess, but with Bailey, life under the sea is better than anything Disney live-action has done in nearly a decade." – Entertainment Weekly
"It serves as a handsome homage while persuasively making the case as its own discrete entity." – Daily Telegraph (UK)
"Bailey gives a glowing performance of effortless starshine; her singing voice has both sweetness and power, and her smile is the sort on which dreams dance." – Seattle Times
"[A] must-see for Halle Bailey's breathtaking work as Ariel and Melissa McCarthy's deliciously devilish Ursula." – Perri Nemiroff
